Dr Rajiv Ahuja.

Dr. Rajiv Ahuja graduated from the University of Delhi, India in 2001. He completed Part A of the Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery ( Glasgow) in 2002. On arrival in Australia in 2006, he under took the Australian Dental Council Examinations, which he completed in 2007. Dr. Rajiv Ahuja worked at various clinics in Sydney and Orange and went onto complete his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2010. He tutored the undergraduate students from University of Sydney in restorative dentistry at Sydney Dental Hospital.
He is actively involved in teaching and mentoring dental hygienists, undergraduate students and registrars at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health. This role often involves providing specialist treatment for patients with a wide variety of developmental problems requiring multi disciplinary management. He also serves as a consultant at the Aboriginal Medical Centre at Redfern. Dr. Rajiv Ahuja believes the greatest gift he can give his patients is by developing long lasting relationships. He is well known for his high standard of clinical work and his gentle and friendly approach with all his patients. Dr. Rajiv Ahuja is dedicated to providing personalised, professional, and quality dentistry work to ensure that his patient’s experience of visiting the dentist is always an enjoyable one.
Dr. Rajiv Ahuja worked as a dentist for over 10 years where he gained experience in all aspects of dentistry. His long-term desire to learn orthodontics became a reality when he was selected in the prestigious program run at The University of Sydney; this is when he completed his three-year full time specialist training in Orthodontics. In his final year of specialist training, he was awarded the Sam Buckley Travelling Fellowship, which enabled him to visit an International Orthodontic Centre of excellence. His research was on root resorption and he was invited to present his research thesis to the 90th Congress of the European Orthodontic Society in Warsaw, Poland.
Dr. Rajiv Ahuja is trained in all the latest orthodontic techniques. His knowledge of orthodontics and close attention to detail allows him to offer the finest and most comprehensive treatments that include self ligating brackets, lingual appliances, Invisalign, temporary anchorage devices, combined orthodontic work for full mouth restoration, and implant placement. Dr. Rajiv Ahuja is a certified Incognito, Invisalign and a Suresmile provider. Dr. Rajiv Ahuja is an Australasian Board Certified Specialist Orthodontist and he believes in life long learning. He is dedicated to continuing his professional education to keep up to date on the latest innovations in orthodontics.

Questions?
Some soreness and feeling of pressure is completely normal after activating the expander. Whilst getting accustomed to your expander you may find that eating and eating feels different, which is completely expected whilst you adjust and acclimatise. It is also common to see gaps develop between the front teeth. These are all completely typical and shows the expander is having the desired effect.
